Dr Hugo grew up in Brisbane and graduated from the University of Queenland (UQ) Vet school in 2011. He has worked in mixed practice in northern NSW, and then took a job as clinical anaesthetist at the UQ Small Animal teaching hospital in 2013. Dr Hugo and his wife Beth, who is also a vet, then spent 6 months travelling overland from Argentina to Canada. They then worked in a clinic in Windsor in the UK for two years before returning to Australia. Dr Hugo’s special interests include dentistry, surgery and anaesthesia. Away from work, Dr Hugo’s hobbies include playing guitar, photography, cycling and cooking.
